Do they? Or is that a conscious choice on their part to limit their own cognitive load by trying to sort between too many good options? It could be any one of their perogatives to simply say “Why a bar? They’re always too noisy, I see people hanging out in the park, let’s go there.” The fact that people DO tend to gravitate towards their phones is, again, a separate issue… but I might contend that in any group of friends, probably at least one of them would be Googling alternatives to the Yelp bars that others are looking at, if nothing else. I know *I* would be!
